Functional Job Description
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on the design, development, and integration of onboard systems for perception, navigation, guidance, control, and cooperation. As a junior engineer, your responsibilities may include:
Development of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) algorithms for UAVs and space systems
Design and implementation of sensor fusion-based perception techniques to support autonomous pointing, guidance, and navigation
Development of cooperation algorithms for autonomous systems
Development and testing of embedded software
Evaluation of hardware components
Support in the physical and logical integration of technological demonstrators
Participation in lab validation tests and flight campaigns
Collaboration in applied research tasks (AI for autonomy or control, computer vision, multi-agent systems cooperation, etc.)
Occasional travel, technical meetings, or field testing days (limited)
Desired Profile
A technically driven, curious and proactive professional eager to grow in the aerospace/defense sector and contribute to the development of innovative systems.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Aerospace, Electronics, Industrial, Robotics, Telecommunications Engineering or related fields
Basic knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
Estimation: Kalman, EKF, UKF
Control Theory: PID, LQR, MPC
Perception: computer vision, sensor fusion, sensor types (visual, IMU, GPS, etc.)
Deep Neural Networks (Deep Learning)
Deep Reinforcement Learning techniques
Programming experience in C/C++ or Python, and PyTorch
Teamwork skills, proactiveness, and attention to detail
Ability to prepare clear and concise technical documentation
Minimum English level: B2 (certification not required)
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of flight or orbital mechanics
Experience in GNC projects, UAVs, CubeSats, or robotics (academic or personal)
Experience with ROS2
Experience with computer vision algorithms for classification, detection, or segmentation
Understanding of drone architecture and open autopilots (PX4, ArduPilot)
Experience with hardware-software integration
Familiarity with HIL/SIL simulations
Experience using CAD software (Catia, Fusion 360, or similar)
